Job description: HOPE for Bereaved, Inc. is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and examining financial records for our 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining accurate and complete set of financial records in a manner consistent with accepted accounting and bookkeeping practices
Recording all day-to-day financial transactions and operations; appropriate expenditure of annual funds, appropriate handling, maintenance, and distribution of funds with appropriate signatures, preparation and distribution of routine financial statements and reports
Matching payments to existing contracts and agreements
Settling and submitting payroll, and related taxes as required by law
Assist Board Treasure in drafting an annual budget for Board approval
Provide financial reports as requested by the Board Treasurer
Tracking of inventory
Timely payment to vendors
Prepare for annual review and annual filing of 990 form
Banking of monies received
Maintains and updates accounting software and file backup
Prepares and maintains employee benefits
To keep confidential all financial contribution information
Answers phones/relays phone messages when all other personnel are unavailable
Performs clerical and other duties as required
Shifts:
Part-Time. Flexible. Must be available during some banking hours for deposits.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Previous experience in accounting, finance, or other related fields
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Strong organizational skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
