Billing Coordinator/Specialist

Position Overview Robbins Children’s Program is looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Billing Coordinator/Specialist to take ownership of our billing processes. In this role, you’ll help ensure billing is accurate, timely, and running smoothly, while supporting the overall financial health of the organization. This is a fully remote position, so we’re looking for someone who is organized, dependable, and comfortable working independently. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and submit billing accurately and on time Verify client eligibility and benefits before services are provided Track accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid or denied claims Resolve billing issues, discrepancies, and denials in a timely manner Stay current on billing requirements and payer guidelines Work closely with program and administrative staff to ensure documentation supports billing Generate reports on billing activity, collections, and outstanding balances Ensure compliance with all applicable billing regulations and standards Support audits by gathering and providing necessary documentation Maintain strict confidentiality of client and financial information Qualifications At least 5 years of billing experience Solid understanding of billing processes and accounts receivable Experience with billing systems or electronic platforms Ability to work independently and stay organized in a remote setting Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Clear and professional communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Experience in a nonprofit or children’s program setting Billing or coding certification (e.g., CPC, CBCS) Familiarity with state or program-specific billing requirements Work Environment Fully remote role Requires reliable internet and a private workspace Collaborative, supportive team focused on helping children and families Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan options Opportunities for professional growth
