Bilingual Workers Compensation Paralegal
Seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Workers' Compensation Paralegal to manage case files, coordinate with all parties, and support attorneys from case initiation to settlement. This role requires strong organization, multitasking, and communication skills in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and maintain case files, ensuring all pending issues are addressed.
Communicate with applicants, attorneys, adjusters, and medical providers.
Prepare and file legal pleadings, petitions, and correspondence.
Obtain and manage medical, employment, and financial records.
Review medical and deposition reports and prepare summaries for attorneys.
Follow up on joinders, discovery, and settlement negotiations with defendants.
Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and status conferences.
Conduct corporate and insurance coverage searches.
Maintain accurate case notes, update databases, and submit reports.
Ensure compliance with deadlines and case filing requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree and/or Paralegal Certificate (ABA-accredited preferred) OR 1-2 years of legal experience.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and LexisNexis.
Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and manage high-volume work.
Typing speed of at least 35 WPM.
