Job Summary

The Big Data Analyst role at arenaflex is a pivotal position that enables our organization to deliver on our core purpose through collaboration with Data Science, Machine Learning, and Artificial Intelligence teams across the company. This role is responsible for enabling model deployment, implementing and maintaining model accuracy, and monitoring data drift to ensure our analytical solutions remain robust and reliable.

As an intermediate-level internal consultant, you will drive the end-to-end lifecycle of data management across various systems, handling different volumes, varieties, and velocities of data. You will be responsible for understanding complex business problems and translating business outcomes into actionable data requirements. This position also involves acquiring data and performing comprehensive data analysis to derive meaningful insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities


Lead complex self-service data integration projects that consolidate information from disparate sources, making it readily accessible to business clients including data scientists, analysts, and analytical users
Drive informal teams in applying advanced data integration methodologies and tools to large datasets to create solutions applicable across descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics
Facilitate interaction with functional leaders across multiple and concurrent projects, ensuring alignment and effective communication
Develop and communicate comprehensive solutions and options to stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Serve as a subject matter expert for data assets and monitor the ongoing effectiveness of data assets in use by business clients within self-service environments
Contribute to the continuous development of the arenaflex data technology center and community of practice
Perform other job responsibilities as directed by leadership to support team and organizational objectives


Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Proficient understanding of both inductive and deductive reasoning with strong problem-solving approaches
Solid foundation in evaluating and applying appropriate data analytics and statistical methods to solve business challenges
Knowledge of acquiring and ingesting data in both relational and non-SQL database environments
Experience in integrating, storing, and processing large volumes of data necessary for analysis and modeling purposes
Proficiency in one or more data programming languages and open-source tools
Expertise in one or more data integration and business intelligence tools
Familiarity with technology systems and architectures relevant to developing and maintaining self-service data assets
Strong critical thinking abilities and project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Ability to adapt appropriately to various conditions and modify approaches when necessary to efficiently and effectively meet objectives


Education Requirements


Required: Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or comparable fields of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience


Experience Requirements

Advanced degree experience with proficient and specialized knowledge in the following areas:


Data analysis, advanced analytics, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or optimization project experience
Data pipeline, data technology, and/or relevant programming experience
Visualization and presentation development and delivery
Solving ambiguous and complex problems through a systems thinking approach
Preferred: Experience with AWS technologies including Sage Maker, Model Monitor, Redshift, DynamoDB, and Aurora
Preferred: Experience with Python, SQL, Alteryx, Tableau, Teradata, Oracle, PostgreSQL Database, NoSQL, Linux, GitLab, CloudWatch, and QuickSight
