We are seeking a skilled Protein Production Scientist Consultant to conduct laboratory studies for our non-viral gene delivery program.
Position Overview
The Protein Production Scientist Consultant will perform recombinant protein expression and purification using baculovirus and insect cell systems. This is a flexible consulting arrangement with scope and hours to be determined based on project needs.
Key Responsibilities
Baculovirus Expression System
• Generate and amplify recombinant baculovirus stocks
• Perform transfection and infection of Sf9 or other insect cell lines
• Optimize expression conditions for target proteins
Protein Purification
• Purify recombinant proteins using chromatography techniques (affinity, ion exchange, size exclusion)
• Perform protein analysis including SDS-PAGE, Western blot, and concentration determination
• Maintain quality control standards for purified proteins
Cell Culture
• Maintain insect cell lines (Sf9) and/or mammalian cell lines following standard aseptic techniques
• Scale up cell culture for protein production
Documentation
• Maintain accurate laboratory notebooks and experimental records
• Prepare summary reports of experimental results
