The role is to integrate the application with all required systems and services and provide clean and easy-to-use API’s for the frontend part of the system. Although the work is usually hidden from the user, the Backend Engineer bears the full responsibility for the application functionality, performance and scalability. The Backend Engineer knows how to write clean modern APIs, integrate with legacy systems and work with databasesDesign and develop the business logic and backend systems of the product, with a focus on middleware supply chain solutions, streamlining end to end warehouse operations and functionsWork closely with the solution architects and product owners supporting our warehouse operations teamsDecipher existing companies software systems and be able to hook in application to applicable data sourcesWrite both unit and integration tests, and develop automation tools for daily tasksDevelop high quality, well documented, and efficient codeChallenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutionsExperience building and supporting at least one of these types of systems: OMS, WMS, WCSRequirementsYou have experience as a backend engineer in common languages and frameworks including Java or C#You have experience working on servers both on-premises and cloud hosted You have deep knowledge of object-oriented programing and engineering principles such as SOLIDYou have significant experience writing and utilizing autonomous services-oriented restful API services and performance tuning largescale appsYou have experience with relational database systems including Oracle and PostgreSQLYou are able to write effective unit, integration, and API testsOriginally posted on Himalayas
