Backend Developer (Python + JavaScript/TypeScript) — Part-Time / Full-Time
Mission: Build reliable backend services that power our app: vehicle/parts data, repair steps, user accounts, and AI-assisted flows. What you’ll do • Design and build REST/GraphQL APIs for the app (repairs, vehicles, user profiles, saved sessions). • Implement business logic for guided troubleshooting and step-by-step repair workflows. • Integrate external services (parts catalog APIs, payments, email/SMS, analytics). • Work with AI features: prompt orchestration, tool/function calling, conversation memory, safety/guardrails. • Build background jobs/queues for long tasks (imports, indexing, recommendations). • Write tests, logging, monitoring, and help with production deployments. Tech stack (current / expected) • Python (FastAPI/Django) and/or Node.js (NestJS/Express) with TypeScript • PostgreSQL (Prisma/SQLAlchemy), Redis, Docker • CI/CD, basic cloud hosting (AWS/GCP/Azure or VPS), GitHub You’re a good fit if you • Have 2+ years building backend systems (or strong portfolio). • Know SQL well and care about clean data models. • Can write maintainable code, tests, and clear API docs. • Think about performance, security, and reliability from day one. Nice to have • Experience with automotive APIs/data, search/indexing, LLM integrations, Stripe, SSO. Deliverables / outcomes • Stable APIs, clean schema, automated tests, observable services, and fast iteration on product features.
