As an AVID Tutor, you will be working with students in study groups and individually, assisting them in all academic areas. Key Responsibilities
Conduct in-person tutorial sessions that emphasize collaborative learning and student-led discussions
Determine concepts that need to be focused on during tutorial sessions, based on student worksheets, notes, and discussions
Guide students in taking ownership of their learning, using strategies that promote independent learning
Assist students in any subject area, familiarizing yourself with their textbooks, materials, and AVID classroom resources
Provide constructive feedback on student work, both online and in-person
Support AVID scholars through care and connection, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
Assist the AVID coordinator with various tasks, such as contacting teachers, helping with field trips, and communicating with parents
Communicate regularly with the AVID coordinator/teacher regarding student progress and areas of concern
Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students to follow
Qualifications and Requirements

Currently enrolled in or have completed a college or university program
