Auto Claims Manager

Responsibilities:

The Auto Claims Manager works in a highly collaborative, cross-functional position reporting to the National Director, Transportation. They are responsible for leading auto claims management efforts and risk mitigation initiatives, providing strategic guidance and leadership to our internal risk management claims team, and actively managing our critical third-party representatives (Carrier/TPA, broker, legal counsel, etc.) in conjunction with the Transportation and Legal departments.

This is a work-from-home position with about 25% overnight/out-of-state travel to Innov Age centers.
• Provide strategic guidance to, and oversight for the auto claims function to minimize risk costs while maximizing our core objectives.
• Oversee the lifecycle of all claims to ensure appropriate financial controls are maintained while ensuring the maximum outcome-based metrics are achieved, including the handling of certain claims internally
• Along with the National Director, Transportation, establish claims processes to effectively achieve shared and clearly established objectives; ensure processes minimize inefficiencies in a fast-paced multi-line environment.
• Provide technical claims expertise and support to business units
• Provide oversight for all high-level claims, liaison updates with appropriate internal and external stakeholders; actively forecast exposures and plan for best ROI
• Inspire innovation within the claims handling function and maximize technology to accelerate results.
• Ensure cost containment solutions are identified and deployed (e.g., RTW program, outcomes-based resolutions, etc.); support solutions with metrics and encourage stakeholder compliance, including for both Auto and Workers Compensation claims.
• Coordinate the exchange of information, including written documentation, in connection with the legal defense of Auto matters.
• Along with the National Director, Transportation, establish key departmental metrics; create KPIs, analyze trends, and generate consistent and actionable management reports.
• Assist with insurance renewals, including data collection, underwriting meetings, and broker engagement.
• Assist in audits of outside claims administrators for effectiveness and cost containment.
• Coordinate and attend business unit claims reviews.
• Provide ongoing, proactive risk management support as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED
• Bachelors degree in Risk Management, Business Management, Accounting or related field.
• 5+ yrs related experience, including claims processing and resolving issues and adjustments required.
• Well-versed in claims management with a specific focus on Auto Liability.
• Experience with claims processing, researching and resolving issues and adjustments.
• Experience and strong knowledge of co-pays, deductibles, co-insurance, coordination of benefits, and secondary insurance and stop loss.

PREFERRED
• Experience working in claims management in large Transportation department.
