We already have multiple active small claims lawsuits pending against Tangonet for unlicensed contracting, defective work, and violations of California’s Contractor License Law. Tangonet’s filing of this new lawsuit is a transparent, retaliatory, and frivolous attempt to create leverage. Key Facts About the Case: • Tangonet has filed a breach of contract complaint alleging ~$10,150 in unpaid invoices for low-voltage work. • Their own invoices and conduct demonstrate that they were acting as an unlicensed contractor on a construction project that required a valid CSLB license. • Under California Business & Professions Code §7031(b), unlicensed contractors cannot collect compensation and are subject to disgorgement, which is the basis of our lawsuits currently pending against them. • We have proof of their lack of licensure, and we also have their defective proposal, which fails to comply with statutory requirements and further bars their claim. • This new lawsuit should be disposed of quickly with: • A Demurrer, • A Motion to Strike, • Or another early-stage dispositive motion. • Our goal is rapid dismissal and shifting the discussion back to our active claims.
