Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate/Of Counsel Attorney for its litigation department in Wichita, KS. The role involves assisting in civil litigation matters, focusing on investigating, assessing risks, and defending personal injury claims. Trial experience is preferred.

Duties

  • Maintain membership in Kansas and Missouri State Bar Associations.
  • Complete Continuing Legal Education requirements annually.
  • Adhere to ethical requirements of the Kansas and Missouri Rules of Professional Conduct.
  • Perform quality work promptly and provide outstanding client service.
  • Research and analyze legal issues.
  • Draft documents such as briefs and contracts.
  • Advise and communicate regularly with clients regarding their matters.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare for and attend trials.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and legal strategies.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice in Kansas and Missouri.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation matters.
  • Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctorate Degree.

Certifications

  • Membership in the Kansas and Missouri State Bar Associations.

  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and staff.
