Associate Transit Planner (Flexible Schedule, Remote)
Innovate Mobility is a class-leading public transit consultancy focused on creating more equitable and accessible communities. We work with municipalities throughout the U.S. to design innovative public transit solutions, including bus, rail, microtransit, and micromobility services.
We are growing and currently seeking a part-time (approximately 10-20 hours per week) Associate Transit Planner (Remote) to support projects on a contract basis. This position will initially be for a minimum of 8 weeks, with potential to extend up to one year based on performance.
Who Are We Looking For?
From a technical standpoint, the successful candidate will have the following experience and expertise:
A background in public transit planning and analysis, either with a transit agency, private consulting firm, or governmental oversight group.
Experience completing Transit Safety Action Plans, route-level analyses, and ridership reviews.
Ability to review transit operations and draft detailed recommendations for service improvements.
Proficiency in preparing clear, insightful written reports.
Ability to manage GIS mapping tasks (no direct GIS technical work required; coordinating with mapping teams).
Familiarity with current transit policy and industry best practices.
Experience managing meetings and interacting professionally with public agency clients.
Strong skills in project and budget management.
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Fluency in conducting research using ChatGPT and other AI tools.
Comfort working independently and adapting to changing project demands.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience) (depending on experience)

Supplemental Pay:
Bonus pay opportunities - based on task completion under budget
