Associate, Equity Research

Monticello Associates, LLC is an investment consulting firm specializing in serving foundations, endowments, and family office clients. The Equity Research Associate will be responsible for investment manager research and due diligence, including generating reports, analyzing performance, and tracking market trends. Responsibilities Attend meetings with investment managers and prepare post-meeting reports for dissemination to colleagues across the organization and to clients Create and update investment manager reports used for reviews and recommendations to clients Assist with underwriting new investment ideas by analyzing firm background, investment strategy, historical performance, portfolio positioning, and fund terms Utilize investment tools including eVestment, Bloomberg, and MSCI ESG to conduct manager analysis and comparisons Create asset class reviews summarizing major trends, including macroeconomic backdrop, performance drivers, competitive landscape, and key client considerations Skills Undergraduate degree (academic concentration in economics, finance, or business is preferred) 1-3 years of experience within the financial services industry through internships or full-time positions with a preference for experience at a foundation, endowment, family office, investment bank, asset/equity manager, or investment consultant Excellent written communication skills (a writing sample is required for consideration) Proactive self-starter with the ability to multitask and organize competing priorities and deadlines Analytical problem-solving and data analysis skills with high attention to detail Intellectual curiosity and desire for constant learning Expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Knowledge of capital markets and securities analysis; specific asset class experience is a plus Experience with investment technology (Bloomberg, eVestment, etc) is a plus Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) retirement plan Health savings accounts Short- and long-term disability coverage Voluntary critical illness and accident insurance Pre-tax parking and transportation programs Company Overview Monticello Associates is an investment management company that provides asset management consultancy services.
