Associate Defense Attorney - General Liability

Our client, a leading California-based law firm, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join their General Liability practice group. This position is ideal for attorneys with 3+ years of litigation experience who want to grow their career with a top-tier team known for excellence in defense work. You’ll handle a range of general liability matters , including auto accidents, premises liability, habitability claims, and product liability cases . The role offers flexibility to work remotely with the expectation of occasional in-person court appearances. Key Responsibilities: Represent clients in civil litigation matters, including court hearings, depositions, and mediations Draft and respond to discovery, pleadings, and motions Develop case strategies in coordination with senior attorneys and clients Attend court proceedings, settlement conferences, and trials as needed Maintain accurate case records and meet internal and client deadlines Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school Active and in-good-standing membership with the California State Bar Must reside in California and be able to appear in-person for court matters At least 3 years of experience in litigation , ideally in general liability defense Strong legal research, writing, and communication skills Preferred Experience: Hands-on experience in: Auto liability Premises liability Habitability Product liability Proven skills in motion practice, discovery, and depositions Courtroom advocacy and trial preparation Key Benefits: Remote or hybrid work flexibility Training and mentorship from senior attorneys Supportive, team-oriented firm culture Career growth opportunities within a respected legal practice Salary & Benefits: Base Salary: $130,000–$170,000 (DOE) Bonus Opportunities: Significant performance-based bonuses available Comprehensive benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.) Additional Information: Employment Type: Full-Time, Exempt Originally posted on Himalayas
