Associate Claim Rep Workers Compensation

The Associate Claim Rep for Workers Compensation will undergo comprehensive training to manage workers compensation claims, focusing on customer service and policy interpretation. This role involves investigating claims, communicating with stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records while developing the necessary skills for independent claims handling.ResponsibilitiesActively participate in structured training classes covering insurance policies, specific claim processes, systems, and procedures, including virtual, classroom, and on-the-job trainingAssist in reviewing, investigating, and documenting Workers Compensation claims under close supervisionInvestigate, develop, and evaluate action plans for claim resolutionAssess coverage and determine if a claim is compensable under Workers Compensation including evaluating claims for potential fraudParticipate in Telephonic and/or onsite File ReviewsLearn how to determine coverage, compensability, and exposure based on policy terms and claim factsGather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providersCommunicate and apprise all parties regarding claim status which may include our business customers, injured employees, medical providers, and legal counselMaintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systemsAchieve a positive result by returning an injured party to work when appropriate. This may include coordinating medical treatment in collaboration with internal or external resourcesDemonstrate openness to continuous learning, particularly in AI and digital transformationAcquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with state and Travelers’ requirements within three months of starting the jobPerform other duties as assignedSkillsHigh School Diploma or GEDOne year of customer service experience OR Bachelor's DegreeStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyExceptional customer service skills and a commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimantsAbility to exercise sound judgement and make effective decisionsStrong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionallyPrevious internship or work experience in insurance, finance, or customer serviceBenefitsHealth Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members – including spouses, domestic partners, and children – are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment.Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
