Key Responsibilities:
Teach Spanish language courses to students in a classroom setting, focusing on listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills
Employ current foreign language teaching theories and methods, utilizing technology such as Smart Boards, the Internet, iPods, and Tablet PCs
Integrate technology into the classroom and homework assignments to enhance student learning
Stay abreast of current events and cultural issues related to the Spanish-speaking world
Participate in faculty development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and stay current with industry trends
Requirements:
Ph.D. or master's degree in Foreign Language Education, Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language (TESOL/TEFL), Linguistics, Language, Literature, Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Technology, Translation & Interpretation, Cross-Cultural Studies, or Educational Administration
Must be able to speak, read, and write in Spanish fluently
Must be able to speak, read, and write in English fluently
Experience in formal classroom instruction of a language foreign to students at the high school level or above
Diagnostic Assessment (DA) certification is desirable
