Overall Purpose: Lead and support strategic communications, legislative advocacy, and stakeholder engagement to advance the organization’s public policy objectives. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, anticipatory, and creative—capable of proactively identifying challenges and crafting innovative solutions that drive AT&T’s success in complex regulatory and community environments.

Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Legislative Strategy and Policy Analysis: Lead the development and implementation of legislative tactics and strategies on state issues affecting AT&T. Research and analyze legislation, federal/state laws, and PAC guidelines. Monitor proposed legislation for potential organizational impact and provide insightful analysis. Anticipate regulatory trends and creatively advocate for the company’s agenda in public hearings and meetings with legislators and staff.
• Political Action Committee (PAC) Coordination: Coordinate PAC disbursement and solicitation campaigns.
• Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government officials, community groups, and third-party coalitions. Provide community relations at the local level to promote a positive customer image for AT&T and its affiliates. Represent the company on local boards and commissions, acting as a trusted corporate ambassador.
• Event Coordination and Communication: Organize and manage community events that foster connections between the community and elected officials. Develop materials for informational meetings and promote company initiatives, addressing constituent concerns with creativity and foresight.
• Mentoring Responsibilities: May serve as an individual contributor providing training and mentoring to less experienced colleagues. Provide feedback and support to enhance team performance.
• Additional Duties: Support internal collaboration, strategy development, lobbying activities, negotiations, grant management, and other tasks as assigned, demonstrating proactive problem-solving and leadership.

Job Contribution: An experienced professional, recognized as an expert, creatively resolving complex issues with broad and in-depth knowledge. Leads significant projects with strategic autonomy, influencing executive decisions. Mentors less experienced staff, implements long-term plans impacting the organization, and frequently collaborates with senior leadership.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 5+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
