AR Billing Assistant - 1099 Contract Part-Time, Flexible

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Billing Assistant to support our medical billing operations. This role will focus on aging reports, non-payment posting, and insurance follow-up within eClinicalWorks (eCW). The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, communicating with insurance companies, and managing follow-up tasks accurately. Key Responsibilities • Work Aging / A/R reports within eClinicalWorks • Post non-payments and denials accurately in eCW • Conduct follow-up calls with insurance companies regarding unpaid or underpaid claims • Document call outcomes and next steps clearly • Identify recurring non-payment or denial trends • Communicate updates and escalations as needed Requirements (Must-Have) • Hands-on experience with eClinicalWorks (required) • Prior medical billing or A/R follow-up experience • Comfortable speaking with insurance payer representatives • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively • Reliable internet connection • Must have own computer and phone line Position Details • 1099 independent contractor position • $14 per hour • Up to 40 hours per month (hours may vary) • Flexible schedule during standard business hours • No benefits (contract position) This position is very part-time by design, with a maximum of 40 hours per month, and is ideal for someone looking for flexible side work rather than a primary income. The workload is steady but limited, making it a great fit for an experienced biller who already has other clients, a primary role, or is looking to supplement their income with consistent, structured billing tasks. Hours can be completed flexibly during standard business hours, as long as follow-up and communication expectations are met.
