We are currently looking for a skilled and motivated Need AVID Tutors ? Middle School And/or High School! This position is based in Remote and we are looking to fill it quickly. Middle School and/or High School Company: Southeast Service Cooperative Job description : Job Description: Part-time AVID Tutors at Middle and/or High School to work with 7th, 8th, 10th and/or 11th grade students. Tutors will work with small groups of middle school and high school students during AVID elective classes under the supervision of an AVID teacher. Tutors will facilitate structured collaborative study groups of 5-7 students each hour of tutoring. Tutors must complete training and will utilize the AVID learning strategies and the AVID-specific tutoring process while facilitating groups during the school year. Up to 4 hours per day. Salary: $13.00/hr. Tuesdays and Thursdays: 7th Grade 9:32am - 10:17am and 1:03pm - 1:48pm 8th Grade 8:43am - 9:28am and 11:10am - 11:55am Wednesdays and Fridays: 10th Grade 12:26pm - 1:17pm 11th Grade 10:58am - 11:53am Qualifications: Able to complete 8 hours of tutorial training; able to make a year-long commitment; enrollment in a college or university is preferred but not necessary; is willing to collaborate with the AVID elective teacher; has the desire to advocate for all students; has the ability to support students at various levels of academic success; has the ability to organize and follow through with the assigned tasks. Licensure: Licensure not required. Tutors should have some college experience complete or be enrolled in post-secondary courses. One letter of recommendation that can address both the applicant's character and academic performance is required.
