Alpha Reader Needed For True Crime Books
Hi Alpha Readers,
We are a publishing company that is developing a new true crime series. So, we are looking for a long-term Alpha Reader with a deep passion for the genre and a critical eye for storytelling to join our team.
If you love reading about real-life mysteries, criminal investigations, and gripping narratives that explore the darkest corners of human nature, we need your expertise to refine our manuscripts and captivate our readers.
[Responsibilities]
Read early drafts of each book in the series and provide detailed feedback.
Identify any inconsistencies, plot holes, or continuity errors.
Comment on narrative flow, factual accuracy, and engagement factors.
Offer constructive criticism and suggestions for improvement.
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding manuscripts and discussions.
[Requirements]
Proven experience as an Alpha Reader or similar role, especially within the true crime genre (preferred but not required).
Exceptional attention to detail and a knack for spotting inconsistencies.
Strong understanding of narrative structure, investigative storytelling, and genre-specific elements.
Excellent communication skills, able to provide clear, constructive feedback.
A commitment to deadlines and a respectful approach to authors' work.
Absolute discretion with sensitive content.
Our goal is to spot as many obvious mistakes as possible that the author might have overlooked while ensuring a compelling and respectful portrayal of real events and victims.
We deliver our draft in a .docx file, and any changes and suggestions will be made in the file with track changes turned on.
Our book's word count and rate are 25,000-40,000 words ($30), 40,000 words + ($40).
The rate for this first project will be $40
