This position will be based out of our office in New York City. About the Job As an AI Software Engineer at Ascertain, you will be a key player in designing, developing, and deploying our AI-driven applications. You'll collaborate with a talented team of engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our customers' needs and transform healthcare administration. What You'll Do: Design and develop scalable back-end services using Python and FastAPI. Build fundamental LLM agents and integrate them into our product. Support infrastructure management using Kubernetes, Docker, and Terraform. Collaborate with internal product managers and customers to align AI product development with real-world needs. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical challenges. Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality code standards. Mentor junior developers and contribute to fostering a collaborative engineering culture. Contribute to our internal best practices. What You'll Need: 4+ years of BE development experience, with some experience using Python. Experience building and monitoring production-quality ML and AI systems. Hands-on expertise with RAG frameworks and agentic workflows. Strong understanding of database technologies (PostgreSQL, graph databases, Elasticsearch, Redis). Familiarity with DevOps workflows using Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform. What You'll Bring to the Table: A passion for user experience and a user-centric approach to development.
