AI Engineer LLM Integration & Agent Development
Primary Talent Partners has a new contract opening for an AI Engineer – LLM Integration & Agent Development with our large power and utilities client in Charlotte, NC. This is a 100% remote role and a 3-year contract with a potential for extension. Pay: $66.00 - $76.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship. Description: Glider assessment required: GAI Expert/Software Engineer Core Skills Needed: • Python Engineering: Strong Python development background; clean, modular code design for data pipelines, API’s and LLM integration • LLM Integration: Experience connecting enterprise or proprietary data to open-source models (e.g., Claude, or similar). • Vector Databases & Retrieval: Familiar with embeddings, RAG pipelines, and tools like Pinecone, FAISS, Weaviate, or Chroma. (Familiarity with those tools not required) • Agent Frameworks: Hands-on with tools such as: LangChain, LlamaIndex, CrewAI, or OpenDevin for multi-agent orchestration and tool-use workflows. • APIs & Infrastructure: Ability to build Python API services that connect data sources, functions, and LLM endpoints. • Data Engineering Foundation: Experience preparing structured/unstructured data (SQL, document parsing, metadata tagging). • Cloud & DevOps: Deploying models or RAG services on AWS (or other cloud platforms); Docker familiarity. • Evaluation & Fine-Tuning: Basic understanding of model selection, prompt evaluation, and lightweight fine-tuning or adapters (ex: LoRA, PEFT). Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) Specific Requirements: • 3+ years professional Python development experience • Hands on experience building and deploying AI or data driven applications • Working knowledge of LLMs, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) • Familiarity with vector databases and AWS Primary Talent Partners is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
