About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated nurse educator to teach our Adult Med-Surg Nursing course, focusing on the needs of adult patients and their families in relation to health promotion and management of conditions that require acute and chronic care. As a clinical instructor, you will be responsible for planning and supervising clinical experiences, evaluating student performance, and providing feedback and remediation as needed.
Responsibilities:
Implement the College's philosophy, curriculum, program outcomes, and course objectives through clinical teaching and service
Plan and supervise clinical experiences for nursing students, providing direct supervision and evaluation of student performance
Evaluate and provide documented feedback to students on their level of performance based on course objectives
Orient and maintain current knowledge related to agency/clinical policies, procedures, and expectations
Develop and post written clinical assignments consistent with student knowledge base, skill competency, and individual learning needs
Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the programs and the College
Qualifications:
Master's (MSN) or doctoral degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited college or university
Unencumbered professional nursing license in Virginia or NLC Compact state
At least two years of professional experience within the last five years in the area of instruction as a registered nurse
Teaching or precepting experience is preferred but not required
Genuine passion for nursing, education, and lifelong learning
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
