The Team As part of the Security, Privacy & Assurance organization, the Privacy Engineering team ensures safe & efficient data.. We work closely with our stunning colleagues in Privacy Infrastructure Engineering and Data Protection Engineering, designing and building privacy and data protection solutions for the entire company. We promote privacy-enhancing designs, set engineering standards, and create systems to ensure Netflix manages data correctly. The Role We are looking for the next Privacy Engineer to join the team! You’ll join an established team of stunning colleagues in executing our privacy program for Netflix Ads. This unique role offers the opportunity to tackle complex technical privacy challenges and collaborate cross-functionally. You will be responsible for building roadmaps, architecting privacy, data confidentiality, and integrity preserving infrastructure within the Ads ecosystem. In This Role, You Will: Work on a highly cross-functional team focused on privacy and data protection for our Advertising Platform. Collaborate closely with our business, legal, data platform, and infrastructure partners to understand the needs of the business, identify risks, and develop technical approaches and guidance on risk-mitigating solutions. Align with our existing Privacy and Data Protection programs for data management, data governance, and data integrity to build privacy by design into the platform architecture, and work with product teams to enable value while mitigating privacy and data risks. Desired Background: You have 8+ years of experience working for an online Advertising company or on Advertising infrastructure designing, developing, or maintaining ad serving systems that serve targeted and personalized ads, and solving complex technical problems as an engineer, architect, or technical program manager. You have owned or supported designing, developing, architecting, or integrating data privacy, data protection, and data governance on Advertising platforms and are well versed in data protection topics such as consent, data collection, data minimization, pseudonymization, access management, policy enforcement, and deletion. You have experience with regional privacy regulations, e.g., GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act), and CPRA (California Privacy Rights Act). You’re comfortable operating and making decisions in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment. You have excellent written and spoken communication skills and can effectively cross boundaries between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $360,000 - $920,000.
