This position carries with it the obligation to uphold the Mission of North Central Texas College in carrying out the duties of the position. It is the responsibility of the teaching faculty to provide learning activities and support that will lead to the achievement of course and program objectives and to contribute to the overall educational environment of the college and community and to provide related services such as academic advising, committee participation, professional development, community development as well as other service support that is needed in the fulfillment of the North Central Texas College's Mission. Responsibilities & Duties: • Treats students and colleagues with respect. • Active involvement in issues of institutional effectiveness including student learning outcomes, program level outcomes, and marketable skill achievement. • Focuses teaching and outreach efforts on student success. • Other duties as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change based on the needs of the department and the institution. Required Education Licensed nurse (ADN, LVN, RN) in the state of Texas Program instructors must be approved by the Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) Required Skills & Abilities • Capable of conducting the classroom and program requirements as mandated by the state curriculum. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Above average computer skills. • Exhibition of respect and professionalism in a spirit of collegiality. • Microsoft Office proficient. • Ability to promote an effective environment for learning in lecture experiences. • Sensitivity to the needs and requirements of adult learners. • Knowledge and understanding of the professional career pathways and demand of the field. Preferred Skills & Abilities Proficiency in Canvas LMS preferred Required Experience Must have a minimum of one year of nursing home experience in a facility (nursing home) This one-year experience must have been obtained after the afore mentioned licensure Preferred Experience Clinical administration experience a preferred. Teaching experiences, a plus, but not required. Special Instructions to Applicants Subject to criminal background check. Employees must reside in Texas or Oklahoma.
