About the role...
Analyzes and recommends revisions in rates and rating plans for assigned lines of insurance; performs actuarial analysis and research concerning present and proposed rating plans, proposed or recently enacted legislation and the pricing of new products.
What you'll accomplish...
Performs actuarial analysis for our PL Homeowners team.
Supervises assigned personnel.
Analyzes and recommends revisions in rates and rating plans for assigned lines of insurance.
Performs actuarial analysis and research concerning present and proposed rating plans, proposed or recently enacted legislation affecting the actuarial function, and the pricing of new products.
Performs actuarial analysis required to support rate filings with regulatory authorities.
Represents Actuarial Department through participation in inter- departmental meetings, and discussions with other Home Office departments and regional personnel.
Assists in the training and development of professional actuarial personnel as assigned.
Performs special actuarial assignments requiring professional expertise.
Performs actuarial analysis of loss and loss adjustment expense reserves; and performs and analyzes the testing of alternative methodologies needed to reflect changes in operational procedures, legislation and current claims cost trends.
Performs other functions as assigned.
Education needed...
FCAS designation, or ACAS level candidate working toward FCAS designation.
Experience needed...
Five years Actuarial experience, including one year as an Associate Actuary with ACAS designation.
Special skills needed...
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated leadership ability/skills
Experience in any of the following: Excel, SAS, SQL, Python, R

o CA Only: $114,080 - $165,400
o CO Only: $107,200 - $142,600
o New York City, NY/Westchester County: $107,200 - $165,400
o WA Only: $114,080 - $190,750
For ACAS level candidates:
CA Only: $101,360 - $147,000
CO Only: $95,040 - $126,700
New York City, NY/Westchester County: $95,040 - $147,000
WA Only: $101,360 - $169,500
