Accounting/ Finance Intern - Westcor Land Title Insurance Company

Overview: Interns will be learning about and assisting with the accounting aspects of the Title Insurance industry. This Intern will work on a variety of critical business assignments. This opportunity will draw on your academic knowledge, while connecting your interests to real world job expectations. You will gain knowledge and experience with an industry leader, while learning how to seek out details, make informed decisions, and help develop resolutions. The goal is to ensure you gain a firsthand understanding of an Accounting or Finance career at Westcor, by assisting our accounting and finance professionals. Qualifications: • An interest and willingness to learn about the Title Insurance, Mortgage, Real Estate, Financial, or related industries. • The ability to solve problems, be detailed oriented and be conscientious about all work completed. • An ingrained concern for the customer and representing Westcor in a professional manner. • The potential to excel in the following competencies: communication, customer focus, ethics & integrity, teamwork & adaptability, productivity & initiative. As an Intern, you’ll: • Gain valuable real-world experience with a Title industry leader • Receive the management support, tools, and resources needed to be successful • Develop the knowledge and skills needed to reconcile, balance, forecast, and create accounting strategy for business development. • Build business and professional skills that will position you for leadership positions • Assist project management with research • Gather information • Share your feedback Education: • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance • Proficiency in Excel and Accounting software Competencies: • Strong attention to detail • Experience conducting research • Very task-oriented • Self-starter • Excellent critical thinking/problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
