25-26 AY Temporary Faculty Pool (Lecturer) - Scenic Design
California State University, Fresno is seeking temporary faculty to teach courses in scenic design and related areas. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses and supervising student designers, with potential opportunities for distance education and designing scenery for departmental shows. Responsibilities Teach courses in scenic design, theatre crafts, graphics, computer aided design, as well as supervise student designers Specific assignments will depend on departmental needs Possible opportunity to teach in a distance education mode Possible opportunity to design scenery for departmental shows Be encouraged to develop web-enhanced and/or web-based instruction Instructor Responsibility: Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2 Instructors are responsible for the preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading (as appropriate) lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (i.e. asynchronous, synchronous, in-person, or hybrid) Skills A Master's degree, or earned doctorate (Ph.D.) or MFA in Theatre/Drama with an emphasis in the area of scenic design or a closely related field Demonstrated commitment to excellence built on merit, talent, diversity, accessibility, and equal opportunity for all Experience in scenic design and construction A commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate level, which may be exhibited through prior teaching experiences and teaching evaluations or other evidence Successful teaching experience at the undergraduate level Company Overview Waco Tribune-Herald is a newspapers company that offers news, entertainment, and sports updates In Texas.
