YouTube Editor Needed
Job Description:
We’re looking for a high-level YouTube editor who understands how to turn raw footage into highly engaging, retention-driven videos.
This is not basic editing. We need someone who understands YouTube storytelling, pacing, and audience psychology.
You should know how to take clips and shape them into a fast-moving narrative that keeps viewers watching.
You must understand:
• Strong hooks within the first 5–10 seconds
• Retention editing (cutting anything boring)
• Story structure and pacing
• Callbacks and payoff moments
• Pattern interrupts to keep attention
• Engagement editing (zoom cuts, sound design, visual emphasis)
• When to speed up, slow down, or pause moments for impact
• Editing for YouTube audience retention, not just aesthetics
We are building videos that should feel energetic, fun, and highly watchable.
Think creators who understand storytelling and retention, not just visual effects.
Requirements
• Strong experience editing YouTube content
• Must understand viewer retention and pacing
• Ability to build a story from raw footage
• Comfortable using music, sound effects, and visual cues to enhance engagement
• Able to stay consistent with brand colors and style
• Able to take creative direction and improve the video beyond basic instructions
Test Edit
To ensure we find the right fit, finalists will complete a short 1-minute test edit using provided clips.
We are not looking for perfection — we want to see how you structure the story and keep viewers engaged.
