Job description: Residential Services, Inc. (RSI) is hiring a full-time Independent Living Skills Counselor (IHSC) for our In-Home Youth, Families, & Respite program in Duluth, MN. As an IHSC, you will help people with disabilities and mental illness live their best, most independent lives. If you are compassionate, warm-hearted, and reliable with a passion for advocating for others, apply to join our team!Shifts:Various hours Monday-Friday starting as early as 6:00am and ending no later than 8:30pm. Every other weekend Friday-Sunday from 7:00am-3:00pm. This position offers 8-10 office hours per week, dependent on needs.Must be able to drive and have a reliable vehicle as well as being able to work with personal cares and some behaviors.
Salary: $21.75-$22.75 per hourWhat we offer:

As an IHS Counselor, you will serve youth and young adults living in private home settings. You will help individuals achieve their maximum level of independence by providing skill training and supports needed to perform everyday tasks. You will assess the person’s needs and work collaboratively with the person and their support team to develop and implement supports plans that will help them achieve independence in a variety of skill areas, including:
Physical and personal needs
Communication
Household management
Community living/mobility
Reduction/elimination of maladaptive behavior
Sensory/motor development
Socialization
Vocational and educational
Health and wellness
For this position, you will need:
A valid driver’s license with no restrictions and have a working vehicle
Education/Experience:
1. Bachelor’s degree in behavioral science or related field or
2. Four years of experience working with individuals with disabilities or
3. Associate’s degree in behavioral science or related field and two years of experience working with individuals with disabilities
To pass a post-offer background check and Motor Vehicle Report check
