Education Unlimited is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Writing Instructor to join our online summer camp team for 2023! As a Writing Instructor, you will have the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds, guiding them through our engaging writing curriculum and helping them develop their writing skills in a supportive and interactive environment.
About Our Program:
Our summer programs include public speaking camps, college admissions prep programs, science camps, summer acting camp, writing camps, computer camp, leadership camp, video production camp, and college tours.
We offer four writing courses: A+ Summer High School, A+ Summer Middle School, Emerging Writers 7-9 Grade, and Emerging Writers 10-12.
Class sizes are small, with an average of 6-10 students, to ensure personalized attention and feedback.
Responsibilities:
Guide students through the Education Unlimited writing curriculum.
Provide one-on-one feedback sessions and lead students in a showcase at the end of camp.
Track student work and deliverables to the camp director and EU home office.
Assist with active supervision, recreational activities, and administrative tasks (on-campus instructors).
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience teaching writing at the high school or college level (for high school programs).
3+ years of experience teaching writing at the elementary, middle school, or high school level (for middle school programs).
Bachelor's degree required; MFA preferred.
Ability to teach various genres preferred.
Publications and knowledge about the publication process are preferred.
Calm and professional demeanor.
Willingness and ability to work long hours.
Self-motivation and follow-through.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong people skills.
Passion for education and writing.
