We are seeking a talented and versatile Writer/Reporter to join our dynamic team. Duties
ā¢ Create compelling written articles of local events and activities as well as local government meetings and functions.
ā¢ Conduct thorough research to ensure accuracy and depth in all writing assignments.
ā¢ Proofread and copy edit all materials for clarity, grammar, punctuation, and adherence to AP style or the Chicago Manual of Style as required.
ā¢ Collaborate with team members to develop content strategies that align with project objectives.
ā¢ Fact-check information to maintain credibility and reliability in all published works.
ā¢ Engage in creative writing projects (occasionally) that captivate audiences.
ā¢ Maintain organized documentation of all written materials for easy reference.
Experience
ā¢ Proven experience in writing across various formats including journalism, copywriting, proposal writing, and technical writing.
ā¢ Strong proofreading and editing skills with a keen eye for detail.
ā¢ Excellent communication skills that facilitate collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders.
ā¢ Familiarity with AP style guidelines as well as the Chicago Manual of Style is preferred.
ā¢ Proficiency in word processing software and other relevant tools for efficient content creation.
ā¢ A background in research methodologies to support fact-checking efforts is essential.
ā¢ Demonstrated ability in creative writing that showcases originality and innovation.
