Writer-Reporter, Nights
Job Description: • Creating content on weekdays from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. PST • Working closely with the Night Editor • Participating as a part of the overall news team • Pitching in during off-hours as needed • Writing stories on deadline across platforms • Reporting stories and conducting interviews • Pitching content • Organizing special content projects as needed Requirements: • BA/BS degree, preferably in journalism or communications, related field or equivalent training and/or experience • Minimum 2 years experience writing for a high volume, digital news operation • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proven ability to work independently • Strong writing and research skills and impeccable journalistic standards • Ability to respond quickly to breaking news • Strong reporting and interviewing skills and the ability to cultivate new sources • Have a passion for the PEOPLE brand.
