Qualifications: Education/Certification: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; college coursework in education/youth issues preferred. Special Knowledge/Skills: Bilingual English and Spanish preferred, but not required Exceptional organizational, oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Ability to take initiative in project and task management and work with established deadlines Ability to establish and maintain professional, cooperative and effective working relationships Experience: Experience working in an educational, social service, or family support service setting Experience with child development and effective parenting techniques Experience working with families that have diverse cultures and economic backgrounds Three years working in public education, or with families in a social services setting. Major Responsibilities and Duties: Assist campuses in developing and implementing Parent and Family Engagement policies and programs, and tracking parent and family participation. Monitor and assess campus Parent and Family Engagement programs and ensure appropriate legally mandated documentation for Title I, II, and III is developed and maintained. Provide training to campuses and at district events on the importance of parent and family engagement as it relates to student achievement. Foster relationships/partnerships with outside community and educational organizations focused on family engagement. Contact parents for outreach and parent communication support as needed. Keep informed of federal laws and regulations related to parent and family engagement requirements. Be knowledgeable about district and state programs that relate to student wellness and academic achievement. Other: Maintain confidentiality of information related to students, parents, families, district and campus faculty and staff. Be committed to implementing program requirements with integrity. Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and special events, including evening and weekend events as needed. Punctuality in all areas. Maintain a positive attitude. Be a positive role model for all students. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
