Under the direction of the classroom teacher you will assist in the supervision, care and instruction of special needs and at risk students. This position is an on-call, as needed position to temporarily replace a paraprofessional aide. Substitutes are expected to be available to work on a daily, consistent, and reliable basis. If selected to substitute in Wheaton Warrenville School District 200, candidates must undergo a physical examination and successfully pass a criminal background check. Ability and willingness to work at least 3 days per week Experience working with special needs children desired LICENSURE: The State of Illinois requires Special Education Teaching Assistants to have one of the following: Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) Current Illinois Substitute Teaching License Current Illinois Educator License with Stipulations Endorsed-Paraprofessional Educator (If you do not already hold a Teaching/Substitute License): The requirements are: Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution; 60 semester hours of coursework from a regionally accredited institution; High school diploma, or equivalent + 480 or higher on the ETS Parapro test; High school diploma, or equivalent + 4 or higher on the ACT WorkKeys Applied Math and Workplace Documents?
