Your contribution will be valued, with a compensation package starting at a competitive salary.   Job title: 5th Grade Teacher- Bohemia Elementary School Company: South Lane School District Job description : Elementary Teacher Position - 5th Grade 1.0 FTE 190 Days/Year Bohemia Elementary School 2023-2024 School Year Duties The classroom teacher is responsible for the instruction and supervision of students. The teacher identifies the needs of students through continual assessment and writes instructional plans based upon individual student needs. The use of a variety of methods and materials to implement instruction is required. Exceptional reading instruction and language acquisition skills, and math pedagogy is also necessary. A teacher in this position must: Be familiar with Oregon Standards Be familiar with the tenets of PBIS Collaborate with collective responsibility within a Professional Learning Community (PLC), and specifically with assigned Professional Learning Team (PLT). Create a flexible program and class environment favorable to learning and personal growth, which may include mixed age classrooms Establish effective rapport and positive relationships with students Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continued education Establish positive relationships with parents and colleagues Be knowledgeable about assessing student progress and applying assessment data to instruction Have strong classroom management founded in restorative justice and growth mindset Create enrichment activities for students that may include before and after school programs, field trips, outdoor school activities, and other special programs that support student learning. Candidates that have an ESOL endorsement are preferred. All candidates must have training and/or experience with integrated curriculums, technology skills, collaboration and teaming skills, and be able to employ a variety of instructional strategies. Consideration will be given to teachers who are fluent in Spanish and/or teachers who are bi-cultural or multi-cultural. Consideration will also be given to teachers with Science of Reading knowledge and training. Salary Salary will be determined by previous relevant experience and degree level in accordance with the current salary schedule.
