Wordvice is looking for freelance academic editors with backgrounds in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physical science, business, social science, and humanities. (Backgrounds may be academic or professional.)
ā¢ High fluency in English.
ā¢ Be enrolled in or have completed a graduate degree program in a relevant field.
ā¢ Knowledge and ability to apply various formatting styles, such as APA, MLA, and Chicago.
ā¢ Advanced proficiency with MS Word and its "track changes" feature.
ā¢ A keen eye for spotting errors in writing.
ā¢ Edit and proofread academic manuscripts, e.g., journal submissions, medical reports, and responses to reviewers.
ā¢ Write marginal comments explaining revisions and potential changes in authorial meaning.
ā¢ Write one overall comment to the author.
ā¢ Respond to order notifications in a timely manner and meet order deadlines.
ā¢ Reply to clients in a timely manner and answer any questions they may have regarding their documents.
ā¢ Freedom and flexibility
ā¢ Steady inflow of work orders
ā¢ Ongoing feedback, and skill-building tools to satisfy our ESL clients
ā¢ Efficient and convenient order-processing system
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $10.00 - $30.00 per hour
