Responsibilities
Ā Database Development and Administration:
Ā Design, implement, and maintain the Windchill 6.0 database within an Oracle 9i environment, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and security.
Ā Develop and fine-tune complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to support Windchill PLM functionalities and reporting requirements.
Ā Proactively monitor and troubleshoot database-related issues, performance bottlenecks, and system errors to maintain system availability and reliability.
Ā Conduct regular database backups, implement disaster recovery plans, and ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or data loss.
Ā Collaborate with the development team to implement data models, schema changes, and database upgrades as needed to support Windchill PLM enhancements and new feature releases.
Ā Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL):
Ā Design and develop robust ETL processes to seamlessly extract, transform, and load data between Windchill PLM and other enterprise systems, enabling data integration and interoperability.
Ā Leverage data transformation tools and techniques to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with data governance policies.
Ā Create and maintain clear and comprehensive data mapping documentation and ETL workflows to facilitate data lineage and traceability.
Ā Windchill Schema Expertise:
Ā Demonstrate a deep understanding of the Windchill 6.0 schema, its objects, relationships, and dependencies within the Oracle 9i database.
Ā Optimize data storage and retrieval strategies based on Windchill PLM's data model to enhance system performance and user experience.
Ā Provide expert guidance and recommendations on data modeling best practices and schema design considerations within the Windchill PLM context.
Ā Collaboration and Communication:
Ā Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Windchill PLM administrators, developers, engineers, and IT, to align database strategies with business objectives and ensure seamless system integration.
Ā Effectively communicate technical concepts, database design decisions, and solution recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ā Stay abreast of emerging database technologies, Windchill PLM updates, and industry trends to continuously improve database management practices and contribute to innovation.
Qualifications:
Ā Experience:
Ā 3+ years of hands-on experience in database development and administration, specifically with Oracle 9i.
Ā Demonstrated experience working with Windchill PLM 6.0 and a solid understanding of its schema and data model.
Ā Proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining ETL processes for data integration.
Ā Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, data modeling techniques, and database performance tuning.
Ā Knowledge and Skills:
Ā In-depth knowledge of relational database concepts, normalization principles, and database security best practices.
Ā Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve database-related issues effectively.
Ā Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams and articulate technical information clearly.
Ā Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Ā Education:
Ā Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
