Wind Technician - Gearbox Repair
The Wind Technician (Gearbox Repair) will perform up tower gearbox repair including IMS and HSS bearing replacements, borescoping, pitch tube repair, driven and non-driven generator bearing replacements and generator alignments
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ā¢ Diagnose problems involving wind turbine generators or control systems.
ā¢ Climb wind turbine towers to inspect, maintain, or repair equipment.
ā¢ Test electrical components of wind systems with devices such as voltage testers, multimeters, oscilloscopes, infrared testers, or fiber optic equipment.
ā¢ Start or restart wind turbine generator systems to ensure proper operations.
ā¢ Troubleshoot or repair mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical malfunctions related to variable pitch systems, variable speed control systems, converter systems, or related components.
ā¢ Maintain tool and spare parts inventories required for repair, installation, or replacement services.
ā¢ Perform routine maintenance on wind turbine equipment, underground transmission systems, wind fields substations, or fiber optic sensing and control systems.
ā¢ Test structures, controls, or mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical systems, according to test plans or in coordination with engineers.
ā¢ Collect turbine data for testing or research and analysis.
ā¢ Inspect or repair fiberglass turbine blades.
ā¢ Train end-users, distributors, installers, or other technicians in wind commissioning, testing, or other technical procedures.
ā¢ Operate manufacturing equipment to fabricate wind turbines.
ā¢ Assist in assembly of individual wind generators or construction of wind farms.
ā¢ Repair green energy equipment or systems.
ā¢ Climb equipment or structures to access work areas.
ā¢ Test electrical circuits or components for proper functioning.
ā¢ Troubleshoot equipment or systems operation problems.
ā¢ Maintain work equipment or machinery.
ā¢ Test electrical equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning.
ā¢ Test mechanical systems to ensure proper functioning.
ā¢ Measure equipment outputs.
ā¢ Inspect mechanical equipment to locate damage, defects, or wear.
ā¢ Fabricate parts or components.
ā¢ Assemble structural components.
ā¢ Perform other duties as assigned.
ā¢ GWO BST, ART certificate (preferred)
ā¢ Winergy, Nanjing, ZF Gearbox Experience desired
ā¢ High School Diploma / GED
ā¢ Pass Background Check and Drug Screening
ā¢ Valid Drivers License (required to operate company vehicle)
ā¢ 100% Travel required
