THE POSITION The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a dynamic Wildlife Habitat Group Manager to join our Southwest Region team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK The Wildlife Habitat Group Manager plays a key role in planning, developing, and overseeing habitat management projects that support both game and non-game wildlife across Pennsylvania. You will have the opportunity to lead high-impact conservation initiatives, apply science-based land management practices, and collaborate with partners to advance statewide habitat goals. Work involves providing leadership to field staff as well as delivering measurable improvements to wildlife habitats and ecosystem health. Work Schedule and Additional Information: • Full-time employment, home headquartered, 40 hours per week • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. • This position is home headquartered. You must live within Allegheny, Beaver, or Washington Counties. • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. • You will receive further communication regarding this position via email. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: • Two years of professional natural resource management experience; and a bachelor's degree in natural resource management, parks and recreation, biology, forestry, ecology, geosciences, environmental sciences, wildlife management, or a closely related field; or • An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirements: • You must possess an active motor vehicle operator's license. • You must obtain a Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator certification within the employee probationary period. • You must successfully complete Wildland Type 2 Firefighter (FFT2) training, including successfully completing a Moderate (or Arduous) level Work Capacity Test (WCT) within the employee probationary period. Additional Requirements: • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
