Wellpoint Laborer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Well Point Laborer to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with the superintendent to execute dewatering projects across the state of Florida. This role requires operating heavy equipment, working in muddy and wet environments, and performing labor-intensive tasks to ensure the successful completion of dewatering jobs.

Responsibilities
Ā• Dewatering Operations:
Ā• Assist the superintendent in setting up and operating well point dewatering systems at job sites.
Ā• Install and maintain well points, pumps, hoses, and other dewatering equipment as directed.
Ā• Monitor water levels and adjust equipment settings to optimize dewatering efficiency.

Field Work
Ā• Travel with the superintendent to various job sites throughout the state of Florida.
Ā• Perform physical tasks such as digging trenches, lifting and moving equipment, and carrying materials.
Ā• Work in muddy and wet environments, maintaining a focus on safety and productivity at all times.

Equipment Operation
Ā• Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to excavators, backhoes, and pumps.
Ā• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
Ā• Follow established procedures for equipment operation and maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure longevity.

Team Collaboration
Ā• Communicate effectively with the superintendent and other team members to coordinate tasks and prioritize work activities.
Ā• Assist coworkers as needed to ensure timely completion of project objectives.
Ā• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment by demonstrating teamwork and mutual respect.

Safety Compliance
Ā• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe work practices.
Ā• Identify potential hazards and report any safety concerns to the superintendent or site supervisor.
Ā• Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to enhance awareness and promote a culture of safety.

Qualifications
Ā• Previous experience in construction, dewatering, or related fieldwork is preferred.
Ā• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor environments, including lifting heavy objects and working in muddy conditions.
Ā• Willingness to travel extensively and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Ā• Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence in job performance.
Ā• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
Ā• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Physical Requirements
Ā• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ā• Stamina and endurance to work long hours in varying weather conditions.
Ā• Agility and coordination to maneuver safely around construction sites and operate heavy equipment.
