I’m seeking an experienced and reliable web scraping freelancer to help collect publicly available student email addresses from U.S. college and university directories.
You will be provided with a list of approximately 900 schools and will be responsible for gathering email addresses for roughly 50 students per school (approximately 45,000 total entries).
Your Responsibilities:
Locate and access public-facing student directories or databases on each school's official website
Scrape student email addresses, names, and any listed identifiers (e.g., major, grad year — if available)
Record the data in a spreadsheet (template will be provided)
Clearly note schools where public data is not accessible
Requirements:
Expertise in web scraping (Python, BeautifulSoup, Scrapy, Selenium, etc.)
Comfortable working with .edu domains and adapting to different directory structures
Strong attention to accuracy — only collect emails that are publicly visible and compliant with institutional policies
Ability to scale the project efficiently with clean, reliable output
Bonus If You Have:
- Experience automating scraping across many similarly structured websites
- Tools or systems to handle rate limits, CAPTCHAs, or load delays
- Familiarity with academic or student-facing web architecture
Project Scope:
