About Our Publisher Applications Team
Our PubApps team is responsible for the development and maintenance of our publisher dashboard, which enables users to view revenue reports, configure behaviors of Mediavine products, manage content like videos and playlists, as well as new products like our publisher onboarding system, and more.
The application is a React frontend, complemented by a Rails API currently being migrated to a Node API by our skilled team of Architects. By joining us at this pivotal moment, you will have a unique opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the application, while also making significant contributions to its long-term growth and ultimate success.
About You
You love to work with a talented team where you have weekly team time (we play Among Us, have Oculus Quests, and do fun group activities) and you're supported in your efforts to grow professionally. You are able to manage your time well, communicate effectively and collaborate in a fully distributed team.
You should have Senior-level experience building modern application backends in JavaScript/TypeScript. You regularly write technical specifications, enjoy pair programming (we use Tuple.app!) with team members, and are experienced in writing automated tests.
You should have significant experience designing, debugging, and optimizing backend applications to make them fast and reliable. You have experience participating in code reviews and providing overall code quality suggestions to help maintain the structure and quality of the codebase.
Essential Responsibilities:
Design and create engineering specifications for software applications and complex features
Oversee efforts for multiple projects under your teams purview
Aid in sprint planning and timeline management, working closely with Product Managers and the Tech Lead as needed
Work with Quality Assurance Engineers to develop software test plans
Write well-designed, testable code
Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
Organize the effort, assess the work, determine scope
Interpret and fulfill engineering sprint stories
Frequently develop complex features and bug fixes
Pair program with other developers and provide technical guidance to others as needed
As business needs change, be flexible in learning and applying your skills and experience on other product teams
Requirements
Location:
Applicants must be based in the United States
You Have:
7+ years of progressive experience in software engineering roles
3+ years of hands on experience working with Node.js & TypeScript
Familiarity with NestJS Framework and its concepts
Extensive experience writing SQL queries
Solid understanding of database technologies and proficiency in Postgres
Leadership capabilities, including guiding technical decisions
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience working on a distributed/remote team
Nice to haves:
Experience in the AdTech industry
Experience with React
Experience with Prisma
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment
