Main Objective:
As a Senior Learning Systems Engineer, you will leverage your breadth of software engineering, data and analysis, and process/project management knowledge and skills to support the continuous delivery and improvement of Medical Education learning programs and enabling technologies. Drawing from your extensive software engineering experience working in the complete software development life cycle and with a range of current coding methodologies, you will serve as lead engineer to support the development of solution architecture for Medical Education business systems and integrations. Reporting to the Manager of Medical Education Digital Systems, the Learning Systems Engineer will serve as technical liaison, working closely with the business and in partnership with key cross-functional and IT stakeholders to provide technical expertise in support of key projects and initiatives. As data and analysis champion for Medical Education learning programs and digital systems, the Learning Systems Engineer will help to provide deeper analysis and valuable insights to unlock opportunities and drive informed business decisions. You will help evolve the use of data with user-friendly analytical tools, solutions, and dashboards so that relevant information can be efficiently gathered, shared, and interpreted by Medical Education leadership and their business partners. With the goal of driving operational efficiency, the Learning Systems Engineer will be responsible for facilitating process improvements by engaging Medical Education and Arthrex stakeholders to design, configure, analyze, implement, test, and maintain business automation solutions. Drawing from your experience in project/product management, you will lead, oversee, and ensure the successful delivery and management of technical projects assigned within the Learning Technology division of Arthrex Medical Education.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership in support of the configuration, continuous delivery, and continuous improvement of Medical Education digital learning systems
Serve as a technical conduit, working closely with the business and in partnership with cross-functional and IT stakeholders on key projects and initiatives
Lead the development of solution architecture for business systems integrations
Lead plans for the mapping and migration of data from current to future state
Serve as data and analysis lead for Medical Education learning programs and digital systems
Analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns
Present information using data visualization, reporting, and dashboarding technologies
Consult with business stakeholders to understand and evaluate current business processes
Identify business problems and needs turning those needs into system requirements
Perform ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner
Support company-wide efforts to deliver and maintain data lake and data warehouse schematics, layouts, architectures, and relational/non-relational databases for learning platforms
Design and develop business automation solutions
Obtain a deep understanding of existing digital systems and business processes to be able to recommend solutions and build high-quality requirements
Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to develop innovative automation solutions that meets the departmental and organizational objectives
Document business solutions via business process guides, functional specifications, and technical specifications
May manage one or more direct reports
Lead, oversee, and ensure the successful delivery and management of projects assigned within the Learning Technology division of Arthrex
Accountable and responsible for the successful delivery of projects within the scope of Learning Technology
Expected to be proactive in managing projects and in communications/interactions with key stakeholders around attaining project goals, deliverables, timelines, budget, and quality
Determine project schedule by determining deliverables, milestones, time requirements, as well as identifying/sequencing project elements and discreet tasks
Maintain project schedule by monitoring project process, coordinating activities, and resolving obstacles throughout the project lifecycle
Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, requesting, and allocating resources as necessary
Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and various system and project management methodologies
Utilize project management templates/processes and other digital tools for work management (i.e., Workfront, Jira, Asana)
Establish a clear communication strategy to provide status to key stakeholders and senior management including RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies) and impact/constraints on scope, cost, and schedule
Ensure that project goals are achieved and are in line with business/stakeholder objectives
Apply Organizational Change Management methodologies and may assume some responsibilities for OCM tasks as an Arthrex Change Agent
Knowledge/Skills:
Demonstrated dedication to continuous learning and improvement by staying up to date on emerging methodologies, advancements, and trends
Demonstrated skill in software project management
Expertise with modern reporting and dashboard visualization
Knowledge of industry practices and standards in learning systems or learning-focused software
Excellent interpersonal skills, oral, written, and business communications skills
Ability to function effectively as a primary contact with internal project teams and external clients
Ability to manage and execute multiple concurrent tasks/projects on time and deliver quality results
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Experience:
5 years of software engineering experience working in the complete software development life cycle and with a range of current coding methodologies required
3 years of project/product management experience
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Power-BI, and Tableau required
Or a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Learning Systems Analyst at Arthrex
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field
Technical certifications or professional development related to project management, data and analytics, systems architecture or similar required
Project Management certification, i.e., PRINCE2, PMP, or similar required
