To do that, we’ve brought the entire insurance value chain—distribution, underwriting, and reinsurance—under one roof to drive innovation in an industry that’s ripe for change.We are hiring a VP, Underwriting and Reinsurance who will lead our risk assessment and underwriting strategy with precision and expertise.About The RoleIn this role, you'll be a hands-on leader driving the vision, strategy, and execution of our underwriting function. You’ll oversee the team, innovate processes, and align underwriting strategies with SafeLease’s growth objectives.To drive our mission forward, this role will:Lead the Underwriting Team: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of underwriters, fostering a culture of excellence and accountabilityMaster risk analysis: Evaluate complex risk factors to determine optimal pricing and coverage terms that fuel growth without compromising stabilityCollaborate strategically: Partner with Sales, Ops, and Product teams to craft underwriting strategiesStay ahead of the curve: Monitor industry regulations, market trends, and emerging risks to keep SafeLease at the forefrontDrive Innovation: Develop and champion innovative underwriting policies, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency, scalability, and competitive advantageEnsure compliance: Uphold regulatory and company standards, maintaining audit-ready documentation and coordinating with partners to align on compliance requirementsAbout YouYou have extensive experience in commercial property underwriting and a proven ability to drive transformative outcomes in risk management. You distill complex underwriting challenges into clear, actionable strategies, inspiring your team and stakeholders with your decisive leadership and commitment to excellence.You’ll bring these skills and strengths:10+ years of experience in a commercial P&C insurance environment and/or 7+ years of property underwriting experience.
