VP of Program Accounting - Remote

This a Full Remote job, the offer is available from: United States, New York (USA) A leading specialty insurer operating across the US, is seeking a VP of Program Accounting to join their rapidly growing team. Location: Remote Duties and Responsibilities will include: • Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting • Reinsurance Knowledge: Expertise in program reinsurance (including quota share, excess of loss) • Financial Analysis: Understanding of financial statements and ability to provide analytical reviews. • Risk Management & Capital: Strong working knowledge of internal controls, enterprise risk management, and capital management • Reinsurance Processes: In-depth knowledge of reinsurance collateral process • External Client Interaction: Ability to manage relationships with program managers, TPAs, brokers, and other external clients. • General Ledger Oversight: Experience in overseeing general ledger, implementing new systems, developing management reports, and ensuring statutory filings • Collaboration & Communication: Ability to participate in intra-departmental meetings, raise financial impact questions, and guide financial policy direction. Experience and Education: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • 10+ years in insurance accounting and insurance operational accounting • Experience in strategic planning and problem-solving at both strategic and functional levels. • Leadership experience, achieving results through team management. • Strong customer orientation and excellent interpersonal communication/presentation skills.
