As the VP, Credit Risk & Analytics, you’ll play a critical role in shaping our risk and analytics strategy to enable scalable, profitable growth. You’ll ensure our funding decisions are competitive, data-driven, and aligned with strong portfolio performance.
You’ll drive impact across credit strategy, pricing, analytics infrastructure, and underwriting optimization—partnering closely with Finance, Product, Underwriting, Sales, and Data Science. Your work will directly influence how we grow our balance sheet responsibly while maintaining our commitment to service, integrity, and results.
This role reports to the Chief Operating Officer and leads the Risk & Analytics function, including a small analytics team, while influencing cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.

• Portfolio performance vs. return targets (IRR, loss rates, yield)
• Risk-adjusted revenue growth and approval rate optimization
• Pricing competitiveness vs. market benchmarks
• Fraud detection effectiveness and loss mitigation
• Analytics adoption and data accessibility across teams
• Underwriting speed, efficiency, and scalability
How you’ll be measured:
Credit, Pricing, and Fraud Strategy
• Own portfolio performance and adjust approval criteria to optimize risk and returns
• Evolve pricing strategies to balance competitiveness and profitability
• Lead fraud prevention efforts and improve detection frameworks
Data Analytics Leadership
• Build and scale a centralized analytics platform (PowerBI, Databricks) for company-wide insights
• Lead and prioritize analytics initiatives across departments
• Translate data into actionable insights that drive business decisions
Process Improvement & Cross-Functional Impact
• Partner with Product to deliver automation and scalable underwriting workflows
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Sales, and Collections to improve decisioning and portfolio outcomes
• Influence risk strategy through data, trends, and continuous feedback loops

What You’ve Done Before:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field required; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred
• 8+ years of experience in credit risk within lending (small business lending or alternative finance preferred)
• Proven experience managing portfolio performance through varying macroeconomic cycles
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing analytics or risk teams
• Track record of building and evolving risk strategies in competitive, high-growth environments
Tools and Expertise You’ll Bring:
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, Excel, and BI tools (e.g., PowerBI, Databricks)
• Deep expertise in portfolio management, pricing strategy, IRR analysis, and unit economics
• Strong understanding of underwriting processes, risk modeling, and fraud detection
• Ability to design and scale analytics infrastructure and decisioning systems
• Experience partnering with Data Science and Data Engineering teams
