Visual Designer

Role Description We are looking for a Visual Designer to write, review, and validate prompt-based questions designed to train AI. Your expertise in visual design, either graphic design or UI work , will ensure each prompt and response reflects real-world design processes. You’ll help shape how AI understands and simulates multi-modal design workflows across these two types of visual design. We are not looking for UX designers - please only apply if you have excellent visual design experience, skills, and a portfolio to share. Qualifications Over 1+ years of experience in graphic or UI design Bachelor's degree in design or a related field Currently based in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, UK or Australia Strong background in creating high-quality visual designs (websites/apps, brand/marketing assets) with unique aesthetics Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to details Exposure working with LLMs and GenAI prompting Requirements Flexible workload: 10–20 hours per week, with potential to increase to 40 hours Fully remote and asynchronous—work on your own schedule Minimum duration: 1–2 months, with potential for extension Role Start Date This role will begin in early to mid-August with applications reviewed on a rolling basis Interview Process You will take an AI interview where you will be asked questions about your background in creative workflows, user experience planning, and systemic design thinking You will share your screen and walk through a design that best showcases your design fundamentals and aesthetic Following the interview you will be asked to share your portfolio Applicants will be selected based on their performance in the AI interview and on the quality of their portfolio Compensation and Legal Details You will be legally classified as an hourly contractor for Mercor We will pay you out at the end of each week via Stripe Connect Company Description Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs, headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
