Visual Design Art Intern, Teamfight Tactics - Summer 2026 (Remote)

Riot Visual Designers seek to craft the best player experiences through their knowledge of systemic design, graphic design, layout, typography, and color theory. Designers collaborate with cross disciplinary teams and act as both artistic and design problem solvers. They understand players and ask questions about the what, who and how when solving for an interface or communication challenge. As a Visual Design Artist for the Teamfight Tactics AXE initiative, you will contribute to the development of visual experiences for a range of player-facing features like themed events, battle passes, temporary game modes, content promotion, ceremonies/celebrations, and player progression. You will report to a visual design lead for an initiative while playing a key support role on a team comprising concept artists, illustrators, engineers, UX/game designers, and producers -all collaborating to create both ephemeral and permanent content for the player experience. Responsibilities: • Create 2D UI visuals that balance aesthetics with functionality and follows the Teamfight Tactics quality, style, and visual design conventions. • Work closely with the Visual Design lead and UI team to support out-of-game PC and mobile client • Collaborate with a team of UX, Motion Graphics, Production, Audio, and Engineering experts to design and bring new UI to life. • Implement your UI in the engine, carefully ensuring every asset is pixel-perfect across all devices from PC to Mobile. • Balance craft and product feedback with a strong empathy and focus on player value. • Maintain clean source files and reinforce project structures and pipelines. Required Qualifications: • Currently enrolled in an art, visual design, or related degree program. • Graduating during the 2027 calendar year. • Available to work full-time hours for the 12 week internship duration. • Eligible to work in the country that you reside in during this remote program. • Visual design experience in Figma and/or other UI/UX design apps. • Experienced with Photoshop and Illustrator. • Knowledge of game design pipelines, including optimization, localization, and implementation. Desired Qualifications: • Comfortable working in game engines like Unity or Unreal. • Experience visualizing player flows for cross-platform experiences (PC and Mobile). • Experience applying thematic art directions to temporary feature spaces. • Experience in secondary crafts such as motion graphics and illustration. • Familiarity with motion graphics software like Spine, After Effects, etc. • Knowledge of League of Legends / Teamfight Tactics IP and style.
