Location South BendPosition SummaryThe Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a Visiting Lecturer position as a one-year sabbatical replacement for our organic chemist. This position is not renewable. The successful candidate will teach the two-semester organic chemistry lecture and laboratory sequence for our chemistry, biochemistry, and biology majors. Some courses taught may be offered evening, weekend, off-site, and/or online. MS in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related field
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to function effectively in our department and within the university
Strong background in organic chemistry
Evidence of teaching organic chemistry
Experience with NMR, FT-IR, and other routine instruments used in organic chemistry
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. (ABD okay) in chemistry, biochemistry, or closely related field
Experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.
